Key Characteristics of an Interactive Portfolio

A digital format of displaying a series of work and or projects is the main usage of an interactive portfolio.

The positive factors in owning an interactive portfolio is that the whole idea and design can be self directed and may show the proactive skills in which are used to create the layout, design, and whole interface. Once completed to a satisfactory degree, the portfolio can be easily sent over the internet to a series of companies and such with just a few steps rather than having to manually having to hand out and travel around therefore making the portfolio more easily accessible. If used within a freelance website, the work can be viewed by anyone who accesses the website and could even be used to gather information of the personal style and perhaps could be viewed in a professional standard by a company of sorts and will gain a higher reputation across the world. The representational factor of the portolio can be tailored to a personal and unique aspect rather than having just a standard folder which are all similar to one another.

Negative factors to an interactive portfolio can be the fact of the files contained within the portfolio may be corrupted easily and may be difficult to fix. The file formats (/extentions) might not work on certain computers with different software and could cause difficulty to view. An interactive portfolio does not give a real feel to the person who's behind the work and cannot be seen in formal situations such as interviews.
